Snunkie and the Bamboo - a Haiku

Today, Trebron and Sirk decided to write a children's story. Let us know what you think!

Snunkie and the Bamboo

This is Snunkie Snail.
He lives on a bamboo plant.
In the living room.

Snunkie writes a poem.
The poem's a Haiku in slime.
On the bamboo stalk.

"I am very bored.
There is nothing to do here.
Set me free, you scum!!!"

The End.

P.S.  Snunkie died of boredom about 3 weeks later...

  1. This is awful. My four year old can write better haiku than that! Bob

  2. Haiku, without fail, never works for me because once I realize it is haiku ALL I do, I mean, literally, ALL I do is count the syllables to assure myself that it is Haiku.

Wish I could provide more helpful feedback.

Poetry was never my strong suit and any poetry that has a requirement of syllabic count misses me all together!

(ALSO: We have lived in certain parts of of the US where the word "poem" has two syllables, just sayin'....)
